Another productive week – I’ve been reading blogs of writers who are currently bogged down – I know that feeling so I’m glad I’ve had a week of inching forward. Part of the time has been spent getting my Art Bar set ready – picking the pieces, editing them, doing chapette book layout, finding pictures etc. I’ve also been getting pieces for open stages at Plasticine, Erotica Meetup. Doing layout on a one-sheet flyer to take to Bloody Words – sort of an elaborate business card – getting pieces sort of ready for my August Plasticine feature (& possible chapette book of them.)
Getting sets ready now means bumping font size and converting files to pdf to put them on my Kindle. I have to say the reader has been the most useful gift I’ve gotten in a long time. I use it daily. I just wish there was easier access to ebooks – if I could have, say, bought ebooks of Gemma Files a few weeks ago & had them downloaded right then & there I would have. Indie store could have spots to do this – pay up, plug in & download right on the spot.
I’ll have pdf copies of my chapette books to upload from a flash drive at my features – a step in the right direction, I hope. All the buyer needs is a ubs port.
Made a couple of mp3 of the Pride pieces so Amoeba Starfish can work on what to do with them when we hit the stage – if we hit the stage – we’re still wrangling with Pride about a time to set up the band’s equipment that doesn’t eat into our (or any other act’s) stage time. The band need 40 min for set up 10 min for tear down – we only have an fifty-five minutes of stage time – so if we can’t fine a time for set up looks like we’ll do a 5 min set.
Spent several hours working in my garden – putting in the annuals for color while weeding away around the perennials – then getting the baskets filled with color to enjoy from the back windows – I love taking a leak looking out the bathroom mirror at flowers in bloom.
Started taking my camera on my walks so I’ll some pictures of my own to put on the blog.

Here’s one of the pieces I hope to do at Pride:
Dancing and Necking
Lorna and I
moved around each other
to the push-n-shove of rock-n-roll
she was 14 and I was 15
we made windmills to the music
we were happy
as long as there was distance between us
at the first waltz we sat in the bleachers
the boys not dancing
feigned a disdain
claimed to want to get some chick
outside into their Dad’s cars
Lorna and I laughed at them
as we caught our breath between songs
another waltz and she held me tight
she smelled of roses
put her head on my shoulder
I could feel her heartbeat
we turned in small circles
her breasts pressed into me
my hand moved along her warm back
felt her bra strap
the mystery of undergarments
her mouth moved into my damp neck
I was startled when she licked my ear
I turned my face to hers
before I knew it we were kissing
turning in small circles
her tongue in my mouth
mine dizzy in hers
I was finally doing something
to prove that I was as much a guy
as those boys
who would never take
me out to their Dad’s cars
