Bastedo Avenue runs south off the Danforth a few blocks east of Coxwell. Not a long street it ends just south of Hanson St. On a Sunday walk I decided to walk up from Hanson & as I got to the top of the street I was amazed to see many house with endless lawn ornaments – mainly various birds plus one of butterflies! Was it some sort of decoration competition? When I got the Danforth I found my answer – some of residents were celebrating the street’s 100th anniversary.
