Maybe these all weren’t meant to be guardians in the way lions are – some are to bring luck – some are decorative- some are broken –

the world according to carp
fish for a compliment
alas, the broken trunk
rare gold Egyptian blue
no bark no bite
Pugsly
do not knock – in fact do not look
griffin flies into a rage even if you are expected
